Knud Rasmussen-class patrol vessel Lauge Koch Commissioned with Royal Danish Navy
 
The Royal Danish Navy commissioned the third and final Knud Rasmussen-class patrol vessel during in a ceremony at Naval Station Korsør on December 11th. , HDMS Lauge Koch (P572) was handed over to the Navy by General Lieutenant Flemming Lentfer who declared "It is a ship of the time".

The Knud Rasmussen-class patrol vessels are fitted with 76 mm main gun and depending on the mission, may be fitted with MU90 torpedo launchers for ASW or ESSM for AAW. This is thanks to the two Stanflex modul mission payload slots (one on the foredeck, the other aft of the superstructure)

The Danish Navy declared that Lauge Koch will perform tasks on the North Atlantic Like the two other ships in the Knud Rasmussen class: fisheries inspections, maritime surveillance, EEZ sovereignty, SAR and icebreaking tasks.

Built to replace the Agdlek-class cutters on a one-by-one basis, the Knud Rasmussen-class vessels are significantly larger, enabling patrols further offshore. The class has a helicopter deck aft behind the superstructure but lacks an aircraft hangar. However, it can perform Rotors running refueling and can thus increase the endurance and the range of the helicopter.
