The new Project 20360M armament support ship Gennady Dmitriev, intended for delivery of ammunition, including sea-based missiles, was laid down at the Vympel Shipyard in Rybinsk, the shipyard’s the press service told TASS.

"The seagoing armament support ship is designed to receive special cargoes from berths and transfer them to ships at naval bases and in open roadstead. According to the Russian Navy Commander-in-Chief’s order, the armament support ship bearing hull number 01551 was given the name Gennady Dmitriev," the plant said. The designer of the new ship is the Nizhny Novgorod-based Vympel Design Bureau. The length of the ship is 77 m, width - 15.8 m. Gennady Dmitriev is equipped with two cargo holds, a platform for cargo transportation in containers, a crane with a lifting capacity of 20 tons and a helipad. The hull will be reinforced to operate in ice conditions. As previously reported by the shipyard, the first ship is to be delivered to the Navy in 2019.
