"We are planning to resume and complete the state trials of the frigate Admiral Makarov in March. The Shtil air defense missile system will be tested at sea. If its trials are successful, we will deliver the frigate to the customer in June in accordance with the schedule," Mikhailov said. As Yantar Shipyard main constructor Igor Leonov said, there were problems with the Shtil system during the state trials. "Subcontractors and the shipyard are removing imperfections in the operation of the Shtil system. It is no secret that the system let us down during the state trials," Leonov said in an interview with the shipyard’s Vperyod newspaper. According to him, the final check of the frigate Admiral Makarov is nearing completion. The ship’s command bridge was reequipped simultaneously. The frigate returned to the shipyard in the second half of January. The program of its state trials was not executed in full as the tests of the Shtil air defense missile system were not completed. The Project 11356 frigate Admiral Makarov is the third vessel in the series. It was laid down by the Yantar Shipyard on February 29, 2012 and floated out on September 2, 2015. The ship was planned to be delivered to the customer before the end of 2016. The first two Project 11356 frigates Admiral Grigorovich and Admiral Essen were handed over to the customer on March 11, 2016 and June 7, 2016, respectively. © Copyright 2017 TASS.
