The engine is used as the main power plant of Russian supply vessels, such as the Marshal Krylov measuring ship, the Alagez rescue ship and the Dubna tanker.
Kingisepp Machine-Building Plant (KMZ) also announced that another batch of heat exchangers is ready to be installed on the Nikolai Filchenko and the Orsk amphibious assault ships of project 1171.
The equipment is a pipeline construction designed to cool water and first-contour oil of the main engines," KMZ said.
The device several times changes the flow of the cooled liquid which crosses a beam of pipes perpendicularly. Water collectors are on both sides of the hull. The cooling liquid goes through their pipes.
