LIMA 2019: Indian ASW corvette INS Kadmatt has arrived.
On Monday March 25, Indian Navy's Anti Submarine Warfare (ASW) corvette, the INS Kadmatt (P 29), has arrived at Langkawi, Malaysia, for a seven days official visit. The ship is scheduled to take part to the 15th edition of Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition, LIMA-19 during this visit.

This ship, the second of its class (the first of its class is the INS Kamorta, P29), is scheduled to participate in various activities as part as LIMA-19, including the International Fleet Review (IFR) by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, a maritime and air demonstration, Sea Exercises (with 29 other Navies), some cultural exchange programmes, cross visits to other ships, and even sporting events.
As a reminder, the INS Kadmatt is an Indian indigenous stealth ASW corvette that was commissioned into the Indian Navy in January 2016. It's been armed with state-of-the-art weapons, sensors and engines and has been designed to accomodate a Seaking ASW helicopter. The ship has a multitude of networks such as Total Atmospheric Control System (TACS), Integrated Platform Management System (IPMS), Integrated Bridge System (IBS), Battle Damage Control System (BDCS) and Personnel Locator System (PLS) to facilitate a contemporary and process oriented System of Systems for optimal functioning of the warships, said the Indian Navy.
As part of the Indian Navy's visit to Malaysia, Vice Admiral Karambir Singh, PVSM, AVSM, ADC, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command will also be attending various engagements at LIMA 19, as head of the Indian Navy Delegation.
This comes as the Malaysian Navy and the Indian one (which are maritime neighbours) continue to closely interact on issues related to training. As part of this partnership, Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) frigate KD Jebat took part to the Operational Sea Training in Kochi in October 2018 (with FOST as Flag Officer Sea Training), while RMN KD Lekir took part to the IFR held in Visakhapatnam in February 2016.
