"The tests were held as part of the scheduled shipbuilder's sea trials. During the check, a test launch of a Kalibr missile mockup was performed and artillery firing against notional seaborne and coastal targets was conducted," the press office said.
"During the tests, no failures in the operation of the weapon systems were revealed," the press office added.
Earlier, the crew of the Ingushetia corvette checked the operation of powerplants, steering arrangement gear, auxiliary mechanisms, communication and navigation equipment and other shipborne systems, as well as the ship’s seaworthiness, controllability, stability and stopping capabilities in various modes.
The shipbuilder's sea trials are being held by the organic crew and workers from the shipyard and are considered to be one of the most important stages completing the construction of the vessel. Their main aim is to check whether the main characteristics of the ship and its systems, mechanisms and equipment comply with the technical specifications.
The Ingushetia is the eighth Project 21631 ship. It has been built for the Black Sea Fleet.
The Project 21631 corvette is armed with the Kalibr (SS-N-27 Sizzler) missile system containing missiles in the 3S-14 vertical launcher with eight launch tubes. The Kalibr system attacks seaborne and land-based targets, using the 3M-54 (SS-N-27 Sizzler) and 3M-14 (SS-N-30) cruise missiles, respectively.
The Project 21631 corvette has the A-190 100mm gun, the AK-630-2 Duet small-caliber antiaircraft artillery system and 3M-47 Gibka launchers as well.
The ship has a length of 75 meters, a displacement of 949 tons, a speed of 25 knots and a cruising range of 2,500 miles. Its cruising capacity is up to ten days. Its crew totals 52.
