Equipped with a common architecture, the Lionfish family of turrets has a compact and low weight structure. The different models proposed make it a highly versatile solution suitable for installation on board any type of ship, as a primary and secondary defence system. The new technologically advanced human-machine interface systems are easy to use, reducing crew training times to a minimum and the architectural solutions adopted also guarantee excellent reliability and minimum maintenance times.
The remote control of the turrets, which takes place via a local control console, and the suite of Leonardo's state-of-the-art electro-optical sensors which they are equipped with, allows the identification of targets with extreme precision, both at night and during the day.
Border control, prohibition of maritime traffic, self-protection and the defeat of any type of threat such as asymmetrical surface, including helicopters and drones, are among the operating scenarios in which the system is able to guarantee high effectiveness. Designed to meet the most stringent customer needs, Lionfish integrates technologies in line with the highest market standards, and offers a great balance between cost and offered performance.
Lionfish turrets are available in four different versions:
Lionfish 12.7 Inner Reloading
The Lionfish 12.7 Inner Reloading is a remotely controlled small caliber naval gun system, providing the operator with the capability of reloading the ammunitions from below deck in safe conditions.
The capability to be reloaded by a safe protection makes this turret fit for an installation on the roof of small boats for border control, maritime traffic interdiction and self-protection.
Lionfish Ultralight
The Lionfish 12.7 Ultralight is a remotely-controlled small caliber naval gun system which stands out for the lightest weight, the smallest deck interface and the best trade-off between performances and price. It can be efficiently used onboard small surface vessels, for border control, maritime traffic interdiction and self-protection.
Lionfish 12.7 Top
The Lionfish 12.7 Top is a remotely-controlled stealth small caliber naval gun system, conceived to meet the most demanding requirements of the ASymetric Warfare (ASyW) due to its large magazine.
It is conceived for law enforcement and military applications, as primary or secondary armament, in different operative scenarios even in case of threats surrounding the ship (for example in hijacking attempts) thanks to its elevate downwards aiming limit and dynamic performances.
Lionfish 20
The Lionfish 20 is a remotely-controlled small calibre naval gun system characterized by long operative range and high rate of fire. Thanks to its compact dimensions and light weight, Lionfish 20 allows providing very small surface vessels with the capability of neutralizing asymmetric surface threats, helicopters and drones, besides to be usable onboard larger vessels as secondary armament.
