PLA Navy's destroyer and frigate hold live missile firing during maritime exercise.
According to a picture released by the China Ministry of Defence on August 21 2020, Chinese Navy guided-missile frigate Datong and the guided-missile destroyer Nanchang attached to a naval vessel training centre under the PLA Northern Theater Command steam in tactical formation to occupy attack positions in an undisclosed sea area during a recent 10-day maritime training exercise.

About the Type 055 destroyer:
The Type 055 destroyer is a class of stealth guided missile destroyers being constructed for the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy. The ship can be deployed in long-range air defence, anti-surface warfare (ASuW), anti-air warfare (AAW), anti-submarine warfare (ASW), electronic warfare (EW), land and maritime strike, escort, long-range patrol and surveillance missions.
According to Naval Technology website, the main gun fitted on the bow deck will be an H/PJ-38 130mm dual-purpose naval gun. Close-point defence against low-flying fixed/rotary-wing aircraft, boats and small craft, coastal targets, and floating mines will be provided by an H/PJ-11 30mm close-in weapon system (CIWS).
The destroyers will be armed with YJ-18A anti-ship cruise missiles (ASCMs) and YJ-100 long-range ASCMs, as well as HQ-10 short-range surface to air missiles (SAMs) and HHQ-9B long-range SAMs.

With the hull number of 580, the "Datong" warship is China's independently-developed new-type guided missile frigate. After its commissioning to the PLA Navy, the warship is mainly responsible for patrol, alert and escort, and such missions as anti-ship and anti-submarine operations independently or with other naval strength.
