Russian navy exercises to mine sweeping in Black and Caspian Seas.
As part of the Kavkaz-2020 strategic command and staff exercise (SCSHU), the mine-sweeping groups of the Black Sea Fleet and the Caspian Flotilla have carried out mine action support for the deployment of forces and groupings in sea areas. Over the past day, the crews of mine-sweeping ships have worked out training grenade throwing and transmission of signals by lighting equipment. At present, they continue to carry out a control and reconnaissance search for mines in the areas where the forces of the Black Sea Fleet and the Caspian Flotilla are dispersed.
The Kavkaz-2020 strategic command and staff exercise is taking place from September 21 to 26, 2020 at the internal ranges of the Southern Military District - Prudboy, Ashuluk, Kapustin Yar, Arzgirsky and Kopanskaya ground air ranges, and also in the waters of the Black and Caspian Seas.
To practice joint actions as part of groupings of troops (forces), military formations from Armenia, Belarus, China, Myanmar and Pakistan were invited to the exercise. Representatives of Azerbaijan, Indonesia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Sri Lanka are planning to participate as observers.
In total, it is planned to attract about 80,000 particiants to the Kavkaz-2020 command and control squadron (including formations and units of combat, logistic and technical support, as well as formations of air defense, the Navy and special forces (Rosgvardia and the Ministry of Emergency Situations). The number of military units covered by the Vienna Document 2011 will be up to 12,900 servicemen in the exercise held under the unified operational command. up to 200 artillery systems and multiple launch rocket systems.
