US Navy USS Jason Dunham Arleigh Burke destroyer returns to the fleet after maintenance.
The U.S. Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC) completed USS Jason Dunham’s (DDG 109) Docking Selected Restricted Availability (DSRA) July 9, 2020, redelivering the Arleigh Burke guided-missile destroyer to the fleet on-time.

MARMC provides surface ship maintenance, management and oversight of private sector maintenance and fleet technical assistance to ships in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States and provides support to the 5th and 6th Fleet Area of Responsibilities. They are also responsible for the floating dry-dock Dynamic (AFDL-6).
Executed at BAE Systems Ship Repair, Norfolk, the seven-month maintenance period included underwater hull preservation, shafts and rudders removal and restoration, opening and inspection of multiple tanks, and numerous ship alterations and upgrades.
Maintenance and modernization of the fleet is key to ensuring commanders have the assets they need to win at sea. Timely delivery of those assets provides them the flexibility to operate on a global scale.
The USS Jason Dunham (DDG-109) is an Arleigh Burke-class missile destroyer in the United States Navy. She was christened by Corporal Dunham's mother, Debra Dunham, and launched on 1 August 2009. Jason Dunham was commissioned on 13 November 2010 with Commander M. Scott Sciretta in command.
The Arleigh Burke class employs all-steel construction and comprises four separate variants or "Flights." DDG 51-71 represent the original design and are designated as Flight I ships; DDG 72-78 are Flight II ships; DDGs 79-116 are Flight IIA ships in service, and will continue through DDGs 124 and 127. The Flight III baseline will begin with DDGs 125-126, and continue with DDGs 128 and follow. The first Flight III ship, DDG 125, started fabrication May 07, 2018.
The USS Jason Dunham is equipped with 96-cell Mk 41 VLS (Vertical Launching System) able to launch RIM-66 Standard Surface-to-Air Missile 2, BGM-109 Tomahawk long-range cruise missile and RUM-139 VL-ASROC anti-submarine missiles. The ship is also armed with one 5 inch (127 mm)/62 caliber Mk 45 Mod 4 naval gun, two 25 mm Mk 38 Automatic cannons, four .50 cal (12.7 mm) machine guns, one 20 mm Phalanx CIWS (Clise-In Weapon System) and two Mk 32 triple torpedo tubes for Mk 46 torpedoes.
