Naval Group teams up with Diodon to develop sub-launched UAVS.

According to information published by Ouest France on October 15, 2021, the French company Naval Group teams up with the start-up Diodon to develop submarine-launched Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. Both companies are currently testing the earlier model SP20 before doing so with the future HP30.

The DIODON SP20 is a quadcopter drone that has a weight of 1.6 kg and a payload of 220gr. DIODON Drone Technology offers a broad range of payloads to answer your operational needs that include a CCD camera or thermal sensor.

The DIODON drones can be deployed and operated by a single operator in any situation thanks to the robust and easy-to-use GCS (Ground Control Station).

The DIODON done has been conceived in order to be easily repaired to ensure on-the-field continuous availability. Most of the maintenance operations can be done directly by the operator without specific tools.

The MP40 is also a quadcopter and is bigger than the SP-20, it measures 300 x 300 x 150mm folded and has a flying time of 30 min. It can fly at a maximum speed of 60 km/h with a maximum range of 2 km.
