The Grigory Shadrin is the third big hydrographic boat of project 23370G. The Mikhail Kazansky first boat operates in the Baltic fleet and the Alexander Firsov second boat in the Black Sea fleet.
The boat has a displacement of 146 tons. It is 24.2-meter long and 8.5-meter wide. Full speed is 11.5 knots and the cruising range is 600 miles. The boat can operate in force 4 sea. The water and food stocks provide for a five-day operation with 11 crewmembers and hydrographers.
The Project 23370G boat is designed for navigational equipment maintenance, hydrographic operations, installation, removal and maintenance of buoys, and transportation of maintenance teams, food, fuel and other supplies to coastal-based navigation facilities, including those on unprepared shores. It can conduct depth measurement with the use of an echo sounder for buoy installation.
The Project 23370G modular boat derives from the Project 23370 and Project 23370M vessels being built by the KAMPO Company for the Navy’s search-and-rescue forces.
