Turkish Navy has successfully conducted firing test of Atmaca anti-ship missile from TCG Kinaliada corvette.
According to information and video published on the Twitter account of Ismail Demir, President of SSB, the Turkish Defense Association on June 18, 2021, the Turkish Navy has successfully conducted a firing test of Atmaka anti-ship missile from the TCG Kinaliada (F-514), an Ada-class ASW corvette in service with the Turkish Navy.

The ATMACA is an all-weather, long-range, precision strike, anti-ship cruise missile, developed and produced by the defense company Roketsan. The missile can be integrated on frigates or corvettes. According to the Turkish Defense Industry, Atmaca missiles are expected to be used on corvettes built under Turkey’s National Ship (MILGEM) project, along with other vessels and submarines that currently use American-made Harpoon anti-ship missiles.
The development of the Atmaca anti-ship missile began in 2009 and a contract was signed between SSB (Turkish defense association) and the Turkish missile manufacturer Roketsan in 2018 to start the mass production.
The first test launch of the Atmaca missile was conducted in November 2019 from the Ada-class corvette TCG Kınalıada in the Black sea followed by the certification test in June 2021.
The ATMACA missile has a length of 4.8m and a weight of 800 km. The guidance system of the missile consists of a global positioning system (GPS), inertial navigation system, barometric altimeter, and radar altimeter to navigate towards its target. The missile has a High Explosive warhead of 250 kg with penetration capability and has a maximum firing range of 200 km.
The TCG Kinaliada is the fourth ship of the Ada-class ASW corvettes built for the Turkish Navy by the Tuzla (Istanbul) Naval Shipyard as a part of the MILGEM project, it was laid down on October 8, 2015, and launched on July 3, 2017.
The is armed with one 76 mm OTO Melara Super Rapid naval gun, two 12.7 mm ASELSAN STAMP remotely operated weapon station, eight Atmaca anti-ship missile, 21 RAM (PDMS) a small, lightweight, infrared homing surface-to-air missile, and two 324 mm Mk.32 triple launchers for Mk.46 torpedoes.
