According to information published by Tass on June 2, 2022, the Marshal Shaposhnikov destroyer trained air defense in the Sea of Okhotsk and repelled a hostile strike, the Pacific fleet said.

The destroyer conditionally destroyed the bomber when it entered the air defense zone. The air target was electronically imitated.

About Marshal Shaposhnikov destroyer

Marshal Shaposhnikov is a Udaloy-class (Project 1155) destroyer of the Russian Navy commissioned in 1985. The vessel serves in the Russian Pacific Fleet. Her namesake is Marshal Boris Shaposhnikov.

The Udaloy class, Soviet designation Project 1155 Fregat and Russian designation Project 11551 Fregat-M, are a series of anti-submarine guided-missile destroyers built for the Soviet Navy, seven of which are currently in service with the Russian Navy.

The destroyer has a length of 163 m (535 ft), a beam of 19.3 m (63 ft), and a draught of 7.8 m (26 ft). She can reach a top speed of 35 knots (65 km/h; 40 mph) and has a crew of 300 sailors.

The destroyer Marshal Shaposhnikov is armed with two AK-130 130 mm naval guns, eight SS-N-22 'Sunburn' anti-ship missiles, 64 VLS (Vertical Launching Systems) cells for SA-N-9 'Gauntlet' surface-to-air missiles, two Kashtan CIWS (Close-In Weapon Systems), eight 553 mm torpedo tubes for SS-N-16 'Stallion' anti-submarine missiles and two RBU-12000 anti-submarine rocket launchers.
