The HMCS Ottawa, the final vessel in the Halifax-class line of frigates, was designed and constructed to meet the diverse operational needs of the Canadian Navy. The addition of the CH-148 Cyclone helicopter has extended the ship’s operational capabilities, allowing for greater reach in anti-submarine warfare and expanding its role in search and rescue, surveillance, and logistical support operations.
