The "Yevgeny Gorigledzhan" vessel is being built on the basis of salvage tug MB-305, built in Poland, at Szczecin Shipyard in 1983 and served in the Northern and Baltic Fleets, which reduced cost of its construction by 40%.

According to project 02670 by Almaz Central Marine Design Bureau JSC, it will be re-equipped to carry out underwater engineering works, ecological monitoring of the marine environment, oceanographic survey of bottom layer, render assistance to search and rescue forces at sea.

According to Burilichev, after the re-equipment, taking into account its ice class, the vessel is able to serve for about 20-25 years. Up to 85% of its equipment, according to him, will be domestic.

The vessel will presumably serve "on the Black Sea - in Sevastopol," Burilichev said. The areas of navigation of the ship, according to him, will also be the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic. At that it can be transferred for service "anywhere", the vice-admiral added.

The vessel of project 02670 was laid in March 2016. The displacement is 4 thousand tons. The vessel is 81-meter long and 16-meter wide. Autonomous navigation is 30 days, the crew comprises 32 sailors and 25 expedition members.

It is important to remember that according to some experts, it is the GUGI that is behind the 2022 Nord Stream pipeline sabotage, which consisted of a series of clandestine bombings and subsequent underwater gas leaks that occurred on the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 natural gas pipelines on 26 September 2022.
