Russia Navy's Lada class submarine Kronshtadt to be armed with Kalibr missiles.

According to information published by Tass on March 7, 2023, the Kronshtadt B-586 second Lada-class diesel-electric submarine of project 677 will be armed with Kalibr cruise missiles and the latest navigational systems and will operate in the Northern fleet.

The minister added measures would be considered to ensure the timely commissioning of the submarine and the time of the acceptance trials.

Lada-class project 677 is the fourth-generation diesel-electric submarine. The surface displacement is 1.75 thousand tons and underwater speed is 21 knots. The crew comprises 75 men.

She has a length of 72 m (236 ft 3 in) or 67 m (219 ft 10 in) on waterline, a beam of 7.1 m (23 ft 4 in), and a draught of 6.5 m (21 ft 4 in).

The propulsion system of this submarine includes an electric propulsion motor on permanent magnets, a storage battery with increased service life, one shaft, and 2,700 hp (2,013 kW). Her range is 7,500 nm at 3 knots (13,800 km) submerged, and it has an endurance of 45 days.

The submarine is equipped with Litiy CICS sensors and processing systems. Its armament includes six 533 mm (21 in) torpedo tubes and can carry up to 16 torpedoes or SSMs or 44 mines.

The St. Petersburg lead submarine of the project has been operating in the Northern fleet since September 2021. The Kronshtadt was laid in 2005. The construction was then suspended and resumed in 2013.
