This drone could be used to target transport infrastructure such as bridges, pontoon crossings, and docks. Its dimensions allow for operations in the Dnipro River, and it is likely to be deployed in special operations by specific units. With 600 kg of explosives onboard, this unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is a maritime counterpart to the "Iskander" missile system.
The plant is preparing for mass production of this new strike unmanned surface vessel (USV) for the Russian Ministry of Defense. The firm has prepared two production sites in Northwest Russia, where she can quickly set up mass production, awaiting successful trials. The prototype was showcased by KMZ at the "Army-2023" exhibition.
Special operations forces will conduct combat condition trials of the USV. It can strike both maritime targets and land targets at the water's edge, such as enemy coastal bases or port facilities. Its dimensions, shallow draft, and stealth capabilities enable it to operate effectively in the Dnipro River.
The developer has publicly disclosed some specifications: a combat load of up to 600 kg, an operational range of up to 120 nautical miles, and waterjet propulsion enabling speeds of up to 45 knots.
There are other special features that the manufacturers have not yet disclosed for confidentiality reasons. This particularly pertains to the drone's remote control method, which differs from those used in foreign analogs.
