According to information published by the Cuban MFA on July 12, 2023, the nuclear-powered Los Angeles class submarine USS Pasadena is currently at the Guantanamo Bay Naval base.

The Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned the US for deploying a nuclear-powered submarine to the Guantanamo Bay military base. The Ministry states that the base no longer holds strategic or military value for the US.
