This marks EID's first venture into the Chilean market. The ships, Almirante Blanco Encalada and Almirante Riveros, were previously part of the Dutch Navy, which, along with the Belgian Navy, has utilized EID systems on their M Class frigates since 2015.

EID's ICS is a modular system, adaptable to a variety of naval vessels, including aircraft carriers, submarines, patrol ships, and coastal vessels. It has been proven effective in real combat operations and NATO joint exercises.

The OceaNEX ICCS series, a core component of the system, is currently in use on 210 vessels across 18 countries, including Australia, Brazil, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, and the United Kingdom.

The ICCS is designed to enhance both operational and tactical performance by managing internal and external communications within the naval fleet.

Integrated Communications System

An Integrated Communications System (ICS) on a warship is a comprehensive network that unifies various communication technologies and channels into a single framework, ensuring efficient, secure, and reliable communication both within the ship and with external entities.

The primary advantage of an ICS is enhanced coordination. It allows seamless communication between different departments on the ship, such as navigation, engineering, weapons control, and command.

This integration is crucial for managing complex operations, particularly during combat or emergencies. Moreover, modern naval operations often require coordination with other ships, aircraft, and shore-based command centers. An ICS ensures compatibility and smooth communication with these external units, supporting joint operations and coalition missions
