The special forces unit "Group 13" utilized a MAGURA V5 maritime drone to target and destroy a Russian high-speed boat of the KS 701 "Tunets" class. This vessel was reportedly used by Russian forces for patrolling and logistical purposes in the region.

According to HUR, the operation also resulted in damage to three additional vessels, with their exact types still being identified. This marks another successful strike against Russian naval assets, following similar operations in May 2024, where two "Tunets" boats were destroyed, and two others were damaged.

Overall, Ukrainian-produced MAGURA maritime drones have been responsible for successfully targeting 18 Russian vessels, nine of which were completely destroyed.

About the USV

The Magura V5 measures around 5.5 to 6 meters in length and is designed for high-speed and stealth operations.

It boasts an operational range of up to 800 kilometers, enabling it to carry out long-range missions, including strikes deep within contested waters. The drone can carry a payload of up to 250 kg, which is typically configured for anti-ship operations. Some versions have been equipped with R-73 air-to-air missiles.

One of the most critical features of the Magura V5 is its stealth capability. Its hull is constructed from materials that reduce its radar and thermal signature.

The Magura V5 has seen considerable operational success. It has been responsible for the destruction or damage of several Russian naval vessels, including the sinking of the Ivanovets missile corvette and the Cesar Kunikov landing ship.
