On March 6, 2021, the Chinese 72nd Group Army has conducted a live firing exercise with the new upgraded PZH-10 that could be named PZH-11. The layout of the vehicle is very similar to the PZH-10 but is fitted with a new crew cabin.

The PZH-11 has the same design as the American-made M270 with the crew cabin at the front, and rocket pod launchers mounted at the rear of tracked chassis. According to Chinese military sources, the vehicle can be fitted with different caliber launcher pods. The standard version is fitted with two pods of twenty 122mm tube launchers in four rows of five.

The PZH-11 will be able to fire 122mm guided and unguided rockets as well as missiles. It can fire standard 122 mm HE (High Explosive) rocket shells and BRE1 122mm HE rocket shells at a maximum range of 40 km.

The PZH-11 has a crew of three and all the firing operations can be performed from inside of the crew cab. The vehicle is fitted with a computerized firing control system as well as a GPS positioning system.
