Furthermore, they deploy HK416, HK417, HK G36, SIG SG 550 and variants, CZ BREN 2, and ceremonially, FAMAS assault rifles. They also use Accuracy International Arctic Warfare sniper rifles in .308 and .338 and PGM Hécate II in 12.7x99mm. For defense, GIGN employs ballistic shields and various types of armored vehicles, including civilian-style SUVs and armored personnel carriers, some outfitted with assault ladders.
