Compared to the baseline 8x8 WAV, the anti-tank variant (designated "8x8 wheeled armored vehicle medium range infantry missile") features a remote weapon station (RWS) with a 30mm machine gun a two Raybolt anti-tank guided missiles (ATGM). There are also two grenade launchers fitted on top of the vehicle.

In its baseline configuration, the 8x8 Wheeled Armored Vehicle is an infantry combat vehicle that is fitted with a 420 ps diesel engine developed by Hyundai Motors, 7-speed transmission and 2-mode secondary transmission. Capable of moving on both land and water, it has been engineered to maximize crew operability with its ergonomic design and scalability to family vehicles. The Republic of Korea Army (ROKA) placed an order for 500 units (designated K808 in ROKA service), with the first ones set to be delivered in November.

The Raybolt is a portable 3rd generation fire and forget anti-tank missile for infantry units. Combined with the latest technology in Korea, the missile boasts highly sensitive seeker and enhance penetration capability. The Raybolt can identify and engage a target using its image Infrared Seeker. The missile can operate in two different mode including direct attack and top attack where missile target's the upper part of an armored vehicle.
