This significant procurement follows the initial delivery of 942 trucks, which commenced in 2020 amidst the challenging backdrop of the global pandemic, impacting both Romania and Italy, and causing disruptions in the overall supply chain.

The decision to proceed with this second batch underscores the steadfast commitment of the Romanian Armed Forces to a long-term initiative launched in 2019. Through this initiative, IDV has established a robust industrial presence in Romania, solidifying its reputation as a dependable supplier of tactical and logistical vehicles. Furthermore, it strengthens the enduring partnership between the Romanian Ministry of National Defence and IDV.

The comprehensive framework contract encompasses four categories of military logistical platforms based on IDV's High Mobility Truck Range: the 4x4, 6x6, 8x8, and 8x8 Prime Mover. These categories can be further differentiated into 16 distinct variants, with roughly one-third of them featuring armored cabins.

Noteworthy features of these High Mobility Trucks, including their Central Tyre Inflation System (CTIS), blackout lights, self-recovery winches, and tactical axles, empower them with exceptional mobility, impressive fording capabilities, and the ability to secure C-130 air transport.
