Myanmar Army is largest user of Chinese armament in Southeast Asia
Due to the prolonged embargo from the U.S. and Europe, weapons "made in China" occupy a major proportion in the Myanmar (formerly Burmese) army, air force and navy, Defense Studies reports.

Due to the prolonged embargo mainly from the U.S. and Europe, Myanmar has been buying mainly Chinese weapons for many years. Therefore, it is not surprising that this country is considered to be the largest user of Chinese weapons in Southeast Asia.
Playing an important role in the armored units of the Myanmar Army, Chinese-made tanks include the following types : Type 69-II (80 units); Type 59D (160 pcs); Type 80 (200 pcs); Type 62 (105 pcs); Type 63 (50 pcs). Some sources claim that Myanmar also operaes MBT-2000s produced by China in cooperation with Pakistan.
The Myanmar artillery also uses several hundreds Chinese systems, be it rocket, towed or self-propelled.
