During night operations, Israeli Army units took control of several strongholds, confiscating an array of military paraphernalia including grenades, explosives, protective equipment, communication devices, and maps. The combatants stationed at these strongholds were engaged and neutralized.
The conflict has escalated to intense, direct engagements. In a coordinated effort, the IDF's (Israel Defense Forces) air and naval forces are collaborating closely with ground troops in Gaza to address and mitigate threats against Israeli military personnel.

Northern Gaza Strip: Palestinian militias have intensified their assaults against the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) with a variety of tactics including small arms, anti-tank fire, and indirect fire. The IDF, as stated by spokesperson Daniel Hagari, has tightened its encirclement of Gaza City, implementing a comprehensive siege by air, land, and sea.
Gaza City Encirclement: The al Qassem Brigades, the militant wing of Hamas, have openly claimed responsibility for a series of attacks on IDF positions in the northwest, northeast, and southern regions surrounding Gaza City. Utilizing anti-tank munitions and a network of underground tunnels, they have orchestrated ambushes against the IDF. Additionally, rocket and mortar fire targeted IDF vehicles and infantry, particularly near the Erez military checkpoint on the northern border.
Coastal Clashes: The al Quds Brigades, associated with the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), have engaged in artillery strikes against IDF vehicles advancing along the Gaza coast. Their military spokesmen have claimed successful anti-tank strikes and the disruption of an Israeli maritime landing attempt west of Gaza City. Reports from Jordanian journalists indicate ongoing clashes in the Zaytoun and Shujaia neighborhoods southeast of Gaza City as of November 3, 2023.
Zaytoun Neighborhood: Since October 30, 2023, Palestinian militias have consistently targeted IDF forces in the Zaytoun neighborhood, attempting to halt the IDF's territorial clearance operations south of Gaza City.
Hamas-PIJ (Palestine Islamic Jihad) Coordination: There is a notable coordination between Hamas and PIJ in their attacks against IDF ground forces. On November 3, the al Qassem Brigades launched an artillery-supported attack against IDF forces northwest of Gaza City, with the al Quds Brigades providing artillery support.

IDF (Israel Defense Forces) Advances: The IDF has reported significant gains, including the capture of a Hamas military stronghold in Jabaliya, which served as a base for Nukhba, Hamas' naval special forces, and operational intelligence headquarters. Israeli military intelligence suggests that Jabaliya is a critical node in Hamas' tunnel network, which is used for weapon storage, rocket launches, and access to the coast. Israeli forces are actively targeting Hamas' naval capabilities to prevent potential threats to Israeli infrastructure.
Jabaliya Operations: Despite IDF advancements, Palestinian militants continue to actively engage in Jabaliya, with the al Quds Brigades claiming close-quarter engagements with IDF forces east of the town.
Indirect Fire Attacks: On November 3, 2023, Palestinian militias reduced the frequency of indirect fire attacks into Israel. Both the al Qassem and al Quds Brigades have claimed responsibility for a total of eight such attacks.
Jenin Refugee Camp: The Jenin Brigade of the al Quds Brigades has claimed responsibility for attacks on Israeli forces during overnight arrest raids on November 2-3, 2023, using small arms and improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
Southern Lebanon Front: Lebanese Hezbollah and other Axis of Resistance militias have escalated their operations, launching three attacks into Israel on November 3, 2023. This includes a one-way attack drone. Hezbollah claimed two of these attacks, one of which resulted in injuries to two IDF soldiers near Mt. Dov. In retaliation, the IDF conducted an airstrike on a Hezbollah military position.
An IDF outpost near the community of Mattat was targeted by an anti-tank missile launched from Lebanon. Fortunately, there were no casualties reported. IDF troops retaliated by directing artillery fire back at the source of the missile launch.
On Thursday, following an attack from Lebanon towards Israel, the IDF engaged and struck a terrorist group operating from within a Hezbollah-controlled area.
