Kalashnikov Tests New Tactical Support for Small Arms in Ukraine.
In 2024, the Design and Technology Center of JSC Concern Kalashnikov developed innovative tactical support to enhance small arms' capabilities in the fight against enemy unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). At the request of security agencies, this new equipment was tested in Ukraine, where it received positive feedback from military personnel.

The tactical support is designed to improve the effectiveness of small arms in destroying small UAVs at distances of up to 300 meters. Additionally, it can be used against exposed enemy personnel at ranges up to 1000 meters, offering a versatile solution for various operational scenarios.
This innovative support consists of a foldable, height-adjustable telescopic tripod with a movable upper mount. This design allows for flexible use with different types of weapons, including one or two Kalashnikov machine guns (PKM, PKT), a Degtyarev machine gun (DPM), or AK-type assault rifles, depending on the specific mount. The weight of the tactical support varies from 15 to 38 kg, depending on the modification, and it is equipped with an open mechanical sight. The system also allows the installation of optical-electronic sighting devices, improving targeting precision.
Tests conducted in Ukraine confirmed that the Kalashnikov tactical support meets operational requirements for countering drones with small arms. It was designed to match the specific tactical and technical characteristics of the weapons it supports, ensuring optimal performance. Concern Kalashnikov is now ready to manufacture these tactical supports in the quantities Russian security forces require.
The war in Ukraine has highlighted the importance of small arms and drone defense systems. Ukrainian forces have used small arms to counter better-equipped opponents, preventing Russian armored columns from advancing deeply. Anti-aircraft weapons have been crucial in controlling the territory and preventing Russian air superiority on the battlefield.
At the same time, Russian forces have developed innovative solutions to counter the drone threat. Improvised anti-drone vehicles, armed with guns and AK-series rifles, have been used to shoot down enemy drones. These vehicles, such as buggies equipped with groups of guns and AK rifles, demonstrate the adaptability of Russian forces in facing the drone threat.
The development and successful testing of Kalashnikov's tactical support in Ukraine reflect the company's commitment to providing solutions tailored to contemporary battlefield challenges. By integrating advanced technologies and meeting the specific needs of the armed forces, Kalashnikov continues to play a key role in the evolution of modern military equipment.
