The video published on the Social Network shows the use of Cheburashka MLRS (Multiple Launch Rocket System) on the Ukrainian position forces discovered by intelligence, who had taken refuge in a forest. It seems that the Cheburashka MLRS has used thermobaric ammunition.
The Cheburashka MLRS was developed locally in the Donbas region and was unveiled for the first time to the public in May 2018. Citing open source information, two vehicles are now in service with the Donetsk People's Republic armed forces.
The Cheburashka MLRS is based on a KrAZ-260 6x6 military truck chassis and is equipped with two rectangular pods, each with four layers of eight 217 mm tube launchers mounted on a mobile platform at the rear of the truck chassis. The front of the truck is equipped with a crew cab. All the firing operations can be conducted from inside the crew cab or remotely from outside of the truck cab with a cable connected to the truck fire control system.
The Cheburashka MLRS is able to launch a wide range of 217 mm unguided rockets as well as thermobaric ammunition that uses oxygen from the surrounding air to generate a high-temperature explosion. This type of rocket can be used to destroy enemy artillery or infantry positions. The rockets have a firing from 1,500 to 9,600 m maximum.-
