According to information published on the Internet, since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Czech Republic has delivered to Ukraine an undisclosed number of RM-70 Vampir 122mm Multiple Launch Rocket Systems (MLRSs).
At the same time, the Gift to Putin project has launched a crowdfunding campaign to acquire one RM-70 Vampir MLRS for the Ukrainian army. The Gift to Putin project is raising funds to defend Ukraine against Russian aggression starting in the spring of 2022.
Founded by Czech businessman Dalibor Dedek, the Gift to Putin project is a campaign aimed at raising funds to provide Ukrainian armed forces with more military equipment, including ammunition, drones, combat vehicles, tanks and artillery systems.
The RM-70 Vampir is a modernized version of the Czech-made RM-70 multiple rocket launcher system. The Vampir version of the system has been upgraded with an automatic fire control system and advanced aiming and navigation equipment, which allows it to fire accurately at targets at longer ranges and with greater precision.
The RM-70 Vampir is designed to be a highly mobile system, capable of rapidly deploying and firing large barrages of rockets at enemy targets. The system is capable of firing a range of rockets, including high-explosive, incendiary, and smoke rockets, with a maximum range of up to 40 km.
