There is no official information about the number of Bogdana 155mm howitzers in service with the Ukrainian armed forces but according to some military source, only a single vehicle of the Bogdana had been produced. In January 2022, the Bogdana conducted its first firing tests.

According to a video published by the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense on June 30, 2022, the Ukrainian army targeted Russian forces on Snake Island using Ukrainian-made Bohdana 155mm self-propelled howitzer destroying Russian positions on the island with fire correction transmitted by a Bayraktar TB2 drone.

With the new pictures of the Bogdana published by the General staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on December 26, 2022, we can confirm that the 155mm howitzer is now fully operational with the Ukrainian army.

The Bogdana is based on a modified 6×6 truck chassis KrAZ-6322 with a two doors crew cabin at the front and one 155mm cannon mounted at the rear. It can fire all the standard 155mm NATO ammunition with a maximum firing range of 42 km with standard ammunition and up to 50 km with rocket-assisted projectiles. The truck carries a total of 20 artillery rounds. It is operated by a crew of five.

The Bogdana is equipped with computerized control and targeting system that uses SIPLUS and SIMATIC HM modules produced by Siemens, as well as a shell-loading device.

The crew cab is fitted with armor providing protection against the firing of small arms and artillery shell splinters. The truck is powered by a Diesel engine and can run at a maximum road speed of 80 km/h with a maximum cruising range of 1,000 km.
