Ukrainian Robotized Systems project unveils new ‘Ant’ UGV

In Ternopil Oblast, a land-based robotic complex known as the "Ant," constructed using 80% Ukrainian-manufactured components, has been developed for military purposes, as reported by Militarnyi. Ihor Chaikivskyi, who serves as the chairman of the "Robotized Systems" project, shared details about this innovation with "Suspilne." According to Chaikivskyi, this remote-controlled device has a range of 15 kilometers or even more.

The primary objective behind the development of the "Ant" system is to remotely assist in evacuating combatants from the battlefield and transport essential supplies. The system earned its name 'Ant' due to its remarkable strength in proportion to its weight; it weighs 350 kg yet can carry an impressive 1 ton of cargo. It operates on one or two batteries with capacities ranging from 6, 8, to 13.6 kW, providing a sufficient range of approximately 30-40 km. The "Ant" can be charged from a power outlet or a generator and will be equipped with radio communication and video surveillance systems, as mentioned by the project manager.

A noteworthy engineering feature is the gangway sides, which were developed and designed by Ukrainian engineers. These sides can easily transform into ramps, facilitating the unloading or loading of the platform from a pickup truck.

The estimated cost of the complete complex is projected to fall within the range of 620,000-650,000 hryvnias, subject to the inclusion of additional equipment.

Chaikivskyi further revealed that following the "Ant" robotic system, the next iteration, dubbed "Minion," will be four times more compact in size.
