Russia: Rostec Shvabe creates light short wavelength infrared range camera
Shvabe Holding of Rostec created a camera of short wavelength infrared range (SWIR) which weighs only 100 grams. The device with a new Russian lens can be mounted on drones of GoPro class suspension. SWIR camera can be used in limited visibility to monitor high-temperature processes, Rostec said.

The device was created on the basis of SWIR camera of Orion Company of Shvabe. It weighs 100 grams. All other characteristics remained unchanged. The weight decreased (two times against the basic option) due to the use of a short-focus lens. All hull units are also lighter.
Due to the small weight, the SWIR camera can be installed on GoPro suspensions of amateur drones. Besides, it does not need to focus, which is important for a drone. The camera surveys in short wavelength infrared range. Fog, smoke and tinted glass are no obstacles for it. "SWIR camera is a successful project of diversification and an example of dual technologies which can be used for civilian purposes. It was designed mostly for emergency missions of drones, rescue and reconnaissance operations. The unique characteristics allow engaging it in various spheres," Rostec Executive Director Oleg Yevtushenko said.
The SWIR camera is a flagship design of Shvabe Holding in Moscow. The light device is ready for batch production.
