The first batch of 20 modern REM-KL recovery vehicles based on Ural-532362 chassis has arrived for the Russian army Eastern Military District, District spokesman Colonel Alexander Gordeyev told TASS on Tuesday, October 28, 2015. The Russian REM-KL recovery vehicles is based on the chassis of all-terrain tactical truck Ural-532362.

The REM-KL recovery vehicle crew is also capable of evacuating damaged vehicles and lightly-armored hardware and weapons weighing no more than 16 tons, Gordeyev said.

The recovery vehicle can transport hardware and tow it at a maximum speed of 50 km/h (31 mph).

The REM-KL recovery vehicle has been developed on the basis of the Ural-532362 truck. The recovery vehicle has a new cab-over layout and an eight by eight chassis, which allows using it on any road.

The REM-KL recovery vehicle is equipped with a loader crane with a lifting capacity of up to 3 tons and a power generator to carry out wielding works.

Unlike the older versions, the REM-KL recovery vehicle features high cross-country capacity and is able to conduct more complex repair works in the field.

"The military personnel are now acquiring new skills to operate vehicles of this type," Gordeyev said.

"The vehicle is fitted out with modern multipurpose equipment and tools. It is designed to restore and repair military hardware and armaments quickly in the field," the spokesman added.
