“Medical units of the military district have for the first time used Linza armored medical evacuation vehicles in a combined-arms combat during a tactical exercise. The vehicles were used to evacuate notional soldiers from the battlefield,” the press office said.
In all, about 10 Linza vehicles delivered to the Western Military District under the state defense procurement program in the spring of 2021 were tested.
The Linza medical evacuation vehicle is designed to evacuate wounded servicemen from the battlefield. The vehicle has three seats for its crew, six folding seats for wounded soldiers, and a rack for two to four stretchers.
The Linza is based on the chassis of the 4×4 Taifun wheeled armored vehicle. It has a laden weight of more than 15 tones. Its armor provides protection from 7.62×54mm armor-piercing bullets, fragments, and an explosive device with 8 kg of TNT. The vehicle can run at a maximum speed of 105 km/h.
