The DY-90/TY-90 SHORAD is a short range ground-to-air missile defense system based on the TY-90 air-to-air missile, and designed by the Chinese Company TY stands for Tian Yan (Tianyan). The DY-90 was unveiled during the 5th Zhuhai Airshow in 2004 which was essentially the original TY-90, but with an additional option of incorporating a rocket booster to increase range upon customer's request. It also is claimed to have the advantages of long range, extended detection range and robust anti-jamming capability. |
