Description
The Sheni-dar or Howeizeh is an Iranian made tracked armored vehicle personnel carrier which was unveiled during military exercises codenamed Shohaday-e Vahdat (Martyrs of Unity), in the East of Iran, January 2011. The vehicle was unveiled with the new name Howeize in September 2012 during a press conference in Tehran by Iran’s Defense Minister, Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi. The Howeizeh is a light and fast defense military vehicle with all its parts and equipment produced internally in the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Armament
The first pictures on the Sheni-dar or Howeizeh showed that the vehicle is not armed but the vehicle can be armed with anti-tank missiles.
Design and protection
The layout of the Sheni-dar or Howeizeh is conventional with the crew compartment at the front and a cargo/personnel area at the rear. The driver sits at the front of the vehicle on the right, two bullet-proof windows are fitted at the front of the crew compartment. The commander and the driver have a single-piece hatch cover that opens to the front.
Propulsion
The engine of the Sheni-dar or Howeizeh is mounted at the front of the vehicle. The engine exhaust system is located in the cooling air exhaust flow on the right side of the vehicle. The suspension is very similar of the German-made Wiesel airborne light armored vehicle. Suspension either side consists of four dual road wheels, drive sprocket at the front, idler at the rear and two track-return rollers.
Accessories
The troops enter and leave the vehicle by a single door in the rear of the hull. A small bullet-proof window is mounted at the top of the door. Two day periscopes for observation are mounted to each side of the hull.
