The Tulpar-S features a modular design with the engine at the front, the crew compartment in the middle, and a versatile rear section that can be adapted for different operational needs. The vehicle's armor is designed to provide protection against small arms fire and shell splinters, with additional add-on armor available to enhance protection. The Tulpar-S is engineered with a modular armor system, providing customizable protection levels to meet various operational demands. Its ballistic defense is augmented by a mine-resistant, double-layer welded structure, a shock-absorbing floating floor, mine-blast-resistant seats, and spall liners within the crew compartment for enhanced survivability. Accommodating a commander, driver, and eight fully equipped infantrymen, ingress and egress are facilitated by a hydraulic ramp with an integrated escape hatch at the vehicle's rear, complemented by top deck hatches for the driver and commander. The vehicle's robust steel hull is complemented by a flexible architecture and rubber tracks, ensuring superior mobility across diverse landscapes. Measuring 5.7 meters in length, 2 meters in height, and 2.9 meters in width, with a combat weight of 15 tons, it offers a spacious interior for its crew.

The TULPAR-S armored tactical vehicle boasts exceptional mobility, powered by a robust 360 HP, 6-cylinder diesel engine, paired with an Alisson transmission system featuring 4 forward and 2 reverse gears with a torque converter. Its advanced cooling pack, developed by OTOKAR, ensures sustained performance across a broad spectrum of climatic conditions. The vehicle's agility is evident in its ability to climb vertical obstacles of up to 800 mm and traverse trenches of up to 2,6 meters wide. It can handle gradients of 60% and side slopes of 30%, thanks to a suspension system that includes torsion bars with shock absorbers, and offers the option of rubber or steel tracks with replaceable pads for varied terrain adaptability. The TULPAR-S integrates a Cummins diesel engine coupled with an Allison transmission, enhancing maneuverability and control. This tracked vehicle can reach speeds exceeding 70 km/h and cover a range of 500 km, with the capability to climb steep grades and negotiate significant side slopes. Its electrical system is robust, featuring a 24V DC setup with maintenance-free batteries. Designed for versatility, the TULPAR-S can operate effectively on rugged terrains and is amphibious, utilizing rubber-band tracks for propulsion in water, thus eliminating the need for propellers. This combination of features ensures that the TULPAR-S remains highly mobile in a variety of combat and reconnaissance scenarios.

The TULPAR-S armored vehicle is outfitted with a comprehensive suite of combat equipment designed to enhance its operational effectiveness and crew survivability. It features an integrated communication system, including a radio and internal speech setup, allowing for seamless coordination among troops. The vehicle is equipped with smoke grenade launchers on both sides of the turret for immediate self-defense and concealment on the battlefield. Survivability systems are a cornerstone of the TULPAR-S, encompassing a life support system with air conditioning and CBRN filtration to protect against chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear threats. The vehicle's protection is further bolstered by an automatic fire suppression and detonation system. For command and control, the vehicle is equipped with advanced sighting systems for both the commander and driver, including multiple periscopes and rear-mounted daylight and thermal cameras, ensuring superior situational awareness both day and night. The onboard combat information system integrates tactical intelligence and fire-control data, while a global positioning system maintains real-time location tracking. Additionally, the vehicle includes auxiliary systems such as an auxiliary power unit (APU) and a pre-heating system, as well as anti-blast seats to mitigate the impact of explosions.
