The KN-02 is a mobile launch short-range ground-to-ground ballistic missile system designed and manufactured by the North Korea defense industry. This system seems to be based on the Russian-made vehicle OTR-21 Tochka with the NATO name of SS-21 Scarab. The missile was tested for the first time in April 2004. The first serial production of the system has started in 2006, and the vehicle enters in service with the South Korean army in 2008. The KN-02 was unveiled for the first time to the public during a military parade in 2007. In May 2013, South Korea has announced that Noth Korea has launched three missiles KN-02. This missile is believed to be the most accurate of North Korea’s missile arsenal. |
