South Korea are interested to produce locally Ukrainian Antonov transport aircraft.

South Korean Prime Minister Kim Hwang-sick has been to the Kyiv Antonov Plant to see the current and prospective products of Ukrainian aircraft builders, a company source told Interfax. "The use of these aircraft as the first stages of launch vehicles will reduce the cost of putting commercial payloads to circumterrestrial orbits. That is particularly important for the emerging space industry of the Republic of Korea,"" the source said.

The sides discussed possible cooperation in the use of new-generation regional planes Antonov An 148/158. Ukraine will continue to transport super-heavy and large-size cargo for Korean clients with Antonov aircraft, the source said.

The official visit of Kim to Ukraine took place on September 29-30.
