The 13th edition of the biennial Dubai Airshow which will run from Nov.
17-21, will double in size and it will be the first trade fair taking
place at Dubai's new airport Dubai World Central, also known as Al-Maktoum
airport, which is poised to become the biggest aerotropolis in the world. |

Speaking at a media briefing here on Wednesday about the upcoming Dubai Airshow, Sharief Fahmy, the chief executive of the Dubai Airshow organizer F&E Aerospace said this year's event will display 150 aircraft on the new runway of Dubai World Central. About 1,000 exhibitors from the global civil aviation and military aviation industries and 60,000 trade visitors will take part in the airshow. Firms from Canada top the ranking of growth in participation. About 32 Canadian firms will participate in the airshow, up 48 percent. China posts a 15 percent growth with 25 companies from China which are going to exhibit. Fahmy added that Dubai's state-owned carrier Emirates Airline will display its Airbus A380 superjumbo, while Airbus itself will display the military transport aircraft A40M for the first time in the Gulf region. |
