Bell to provide Bell 407GXs to Mexican Air Force for drug enforcement | |||
The
Mexican Air Force (FAM) plans to buy fourteen helicopters Bell 407GX investment
amounting to 1,630 million pesos, about $ 124 million. The Bell 407GX
will be operated in pairs in Mexico: one equipped to fumigate drug plantations
and the other as gunship to escort and protect the equipment. |

The Bell 407GX will replace a similarly configured model, the Bell 206 in versions B and L, operated by the 111th Air Squadron of the FAM, located at the Air Base No. 5, in Zapopan, Jalisco. The Bell 407GX is part of a huge investment in terms of air equipment the Mexican Treasury estimated at 7,288 million pesos, about $ 554 million. According to the official site of Bell Helicopter, a division of Textron, 407GX performance model is superior to Bell 407. Its dashboard Garmin 1000H provides critical flight information at a glance for greater situational awareness and safety. "It's just another example of how the 407GX offers improved performance for each mission", the manufacturer guarantees. |
