Iraq receives first batch of Russian Helicopters Mi-28 NE Nighter Hunter Attack Helicopter.
 

Last year, Iraq signed a $4.3 billion deal with Moscow to buy Russian weapons and military equipment, including around 40 Mi-35 and Mi-28NE attack helicopters. Iraq took collection of the first four Mi-35 helicopter gunships this fall. Iraq received the 13 Mi-28 NE this Friday which will be used in anti-terrorist operations, said Sunday the MP from the Iraqi parliament, Fouad al-Dorki.

they arrived Friday night at Umm Qasr Port in Iraq, in Basra province. We hope they will participate in the antiterrorist operation that we launched in the province of Al-Anbar, "border with Syria, said M.al-Dorki.

The first batch of helicopters (four Mi-35) arrived in Iraq in early November 2013. These helicopters are already involved in the antiterrorist operation in the province of Al-Anbar.
