Sierra Nevada to provide Saudi Arabia with two new King Air 350ER ISR aircraft

The US-based defense contractor Sierra Nevada has been awarded a $71,475,750 contract for the Saudi Arabia's King Air 350 program, the US Department of Defense announced on its website on April 1, 2016. Sierra Nevada is to install new synthetic aperture radar capability on Saudi KA350ER aircraft.

Sierra Nevada performance includes modification of two King Air 350 extended range (KA350ER) aircraft with intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance/synthetic aperture radar (ISR/SAR) capability, one transportable ground station, one fixed ground station and one mission system trainer. "Work will be performed at Hagerstown, Maryland, and is expected to be complete by April 30, 2020. Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is the contracting activity," the US DoD Added. |
