"The observation flight over Croatia is taking place on June 3-7, 2019 from the Zagreb Open Skies airfield. The maximum flight range will be 1,300 km," the ministry said.
The Russian surveillance aircraft is flying on a fixed route, which has been agreed with the party subject to inspection, while the Croatian experts onboard are controlling the order of application of the surveillance equipment and the observance of provisions of the Open Skies treaty.
Observation flights under the Open Skies Treaty are designed to make the military activities of signatory states more open and transparent as well as to strengthen security through confidence-building measures.
