Galvion to Deliver 35,000 Helmets to Middle Eastern Forces for Improved Protection and Operational Performance at IDEX 2025.
On February 16, 2025, Galvion, a global specialist in the design and manufacturing of head protection systems, energy and data management solutions, and integrated soldier systems, announced the receipt of several recent orders from the Middle East, totaling 35,000 Batlskin helmets. This announcement coincides with the IDEX exhibition in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, taking place from February 17 to 21, 2025, where Galvion showcased its products.

The 35,000 ordered protection systems are divided between two Batlskin helmet variants: the Batlskin VIPER and the Batlskin PDxT. The latter, recently introduced into Galvion’s commercial catalog under the name Batlskin Hellbender, features a specific geometry. While the company has not disclosed full details of the contracts, one of its long-standing regional partners is among the latest customers. This partner has previously procured over 100,000 helmets over the past decade to equip armed forces and security services in the region.
The Batlskin PDxT is a combat-tested platform adopted by multiple international programs. Its design includes a front profile in line with modern combat helmets, smooth ear transitions, and a reinforced rear section for added structural strength and enhanced ballistic protection.
The Batlskin VIPER is a high-cut aramid fiber helmet available in multiple configurations. The Batlskin VIPER A3 is designed for law enforcement and tactical response teams. The VIPER P2 configuration provides a reduced weight while maintaining high ballistic and impact protection. The Batlskin VIPER A1 Special Edition is available in coyote brown and comes with a custom camouflage cover and a specialized helmet bag. Both models include Galvion’s Modular Suspension System (MSS), designed to enhance comfort and stability while ensuring proper airflow and extended wear protection.
Galvion supplies helmets to customers worldwide, including NATO forces. Last year, the company signed three contracts with NATO for the delivery of Batlskin Caiman helmets to Norway, Finland, and Sweden. Canada has also placed multiple orders with Galvion in recent years, acquiring a total of 10,500 helmets.
The PDxT helmet was recently submitted for evaluation by the United States Marine Corps under the Integrated Helmet System (IHS) program. This model incorporates integrated wiring and connectors to support night vision equipment such as the Squad Binocular Night Vision Goggle (SBNVG) and the Enhanced Clip-On Thermal Imager (ECOTI). It features a built-in power management system with cables routed under the side rails, connecting to proprietary ports on the right side of the helmet. This design improves power supply efficiency for connected devices without compromising helmet comfort or usability.
Galvion has also introduced its Energy Data Grid (E.D.G.) system, developed to address increasing power and data management requirements for modern soldiers. Initially designed for the PDxT, this scalable system will be available for other models, including the Batlskin Caiman. The objective is to transition the helmet from a passive protective device to an integrated system that enhances operational capability and survivability.
Alex Hooper, Vice President of Strategic Markets at Galvion, highlighted the company’s established relationships with Middle Eastern customers. According to him, these recent orders demonstrate Galvion’s role as a key supplier of head protection systems worldwide. He also emphasized the company’s presence at IDEX 2025, where it is showcasing not only its helmet solutions but also its expanded Nerv Centr energy and data management systems. These solutions are particularly suited for remote and demanding environments where power access is limited. The company views this exhibition as an opportunity to present its integrated soldier systems and strengthen cooperation with allied armed forces in the region.
With this announcement, Galvion maintains its position as a key provider of personal protection equipment while continuing to develop solutions that meet the evolving needs of military and security forces in the Middle East.
