About
International Armoured Vehicle
The
Armoured vehicle Market
Recent
surges in IED and PRG attacks
against allied forces highlight
the fundamental need to improve
and advance international land
equipment programmes. However,
with budget cuts on the rise,
delivering maximum capability
to current operations as top priority
is impacting core equipment programmes.
The trade-off is delivering kit
to troops today versus long term
capability acquisition, and it
is a challenge that armed forces
are facing across the globe.
The trend towards counter-insurgency
and stability operations is driving
a greater demand for a bigger
and broader array of armoured
vehicles than ever before. Armed
forces globally need vehicles
to meet different capability requirements
with variables including protection,
survivability, mobility and weapons
systems.
With spending on MBTs, APCs &
IFVs alone forecast to grow by
$9.4bn (42%) over the next year,
International Armoured Vehicles
2010 is the ideal opportunity
to accelerate your business strategy
and advance your competitive position.

Who
will exhibit?
We have a strong track record
of attracting the prime suppliers
as sponsors and exhibitors but,
until now, we have not had the
capacity to host the more specialist
component suppliers who are equally
vital to the industry. Feedback
from previous attendees showed
a strong demand for us to remedy
this by opening the exhibition
to this tier of suppliers, which
has underpinned our move to London's
ExCel Centre.
Who
will visit?
Simply, anyone responsible for
finding the right suppliers at
the best value for their organisation.
This is the ideal opportunity
to discover new options, explore
innovative technologies and their
applications in-theatre, and refresh
your contact network.
With a record number of senior
armoured vehicle experts on hand,
you'll be able to spend your time
networking and learning alongside
the most relevant and influential
members of the international defence
community.
From Chiefs of Land Forces to
Programme Managers, from procurement
specialists to technical experts
and academic thought leaders,

The
International Armoured Vehicles Event
2010 Iveco continues to develop the
LMV |
The
International Armoured Vehicles
Event 2010 (1-5 February 2010)
offers Iveco Defence Vehicles
the opportunity to acquaint both
existing customers and other visitors
with more recent developments
on this outstanding combat proven
design. This builds on our stand
at DSEI 2009, where three variants
were shown to provide some idea
of the different configurations
which are available and to provoke
feedback and comment. Besides
the standard short wheel base
4 man cab Italian Army version,
a two man chassis cab on a long
wheel base was on display, demonstrating
the versatility of the design
and showing the ease with which
it can be reconfigured to carry
a shelter or a weapon system.

Barco
are set to exhibit their latest technology
at International Armoured Vehicles |
The
challenging nature of 21st century
warfare has resulted in operators
being confronted with an increasing
amount of information in support
of making mission critical decisions.
In a dynamic, real-time scenario,
there is also a danger of information
overload for an operator attempting
to consume and interpret such large
volumes of imagery. As a result,
Barco's technology provides better
situational awareness, better response
time for operators and decision
makers, and increased survivability.
Barco are set to showcase their
new IP-based 360° awareness
solutions for armored vehicles,
which gather information from a
collection of sensor sources and
present this to the operator. Visualisation
tools and programmable Human Machine
Interfaces (HMIs) make it easy for
the operator to focus both on the
big picture and on a specific area
of interest. User-friendly screen
layouts combined with technologies
like stabilisation and sensor fusion
allow rapid recognition of information
in the blink of an eye. This is
an essential requirement as a result
of operators in current challenging
security environments being confronted
with an increasing amount of information
in support of making mission critical
decisions.

Beth-El
to combat operational challenges at
International Armoured 2010 |
LONDON,
UK - 18th November 2009 - Beth-El
Industries will be exhibiting their
new NBC-filtration product line
International Armoured Vehicles
taking place on the 1st to the 5th
February, at the ExCel Centre, London.
With operational challenges in conflict
scenarios in Afghanistan ranging
from new and unseen terrorist enemies,
to extreme environmental conditions
and terrains, force protection is
now recognised as being of crucial
importance to achieving operational
success. New threats include a whole
host of scenarios, from chemically
laced roadside bombs (Chlorine IED's)
to the remote and hostile environments
that need to be accessed in order
to rout terrorist enclaves. The
nuclear, biological, and chemical
threat protection systems which
are currently in service, were designed
specifically for the Cold War, and
are proving now hugely inadequate,
which further emphasises the need
for a higher level of protection
against these new operational challenges.
Beth-El's unique and versatile systems
can be customised into any armoured
vehicle and are able to remove sand
and dust from crew compartments
in peace-time operations, not only
protecting crews, but also extending
the life-time of sensitive electronic
equipment inside the protected environment.
The exhibition, which is taken place
alongside the main conference at
International Armoured Vehicles,
is drawing considerable interest
from the AFV community, with over
50 exhibitors signed up already.
Beth-El will be joined by an array
of vehicle manufacturers and major
OEMs, vehicle system suppliers and
service providers. Companies range
from Oskosh, Plasan, and Ruag to
Elbit Systems, MDH Bioquell, Hutchison
and Tyron. |

OSHKOSH
to display Sandact at International
armoured vehicles 2010 |
LONDON,
UK - 16th November 2009 - Oshkosh
Defence will showcase their vehicle
armouring capabilities at International
Armoured Vehicles taking place on
the 1st to the 5th February, at
the ExCel Centre, London.
As calls across the globe for improved
equipment to be provided to troops
in Afghanistan, Oshkosh have received
significant praise from the U.S
Defense Secretary, Robert Gates,
who claims that Oshkosh's rapid
build up of a new class of military
vehicles designed for specifically
for Afghanistan, is one of the most
remarkable efforts in the defence
industry since World War II. With
recorded statistics indicating that
eight American troops have died
in combat through attacks on armoured
military vehicles, and forty more
wounded, there is the sense of a
growing need to hasten global efforts
to upgrade armoured vehicle military
capabilities. Exhibiting their new
SandCat, the high-speed, highly-protected,
highly-manoeuvrable vehicle can
be specifically configured to fulfil
a variety of roles in any type of
mission. The SandCat is tailored
to meet operational environments,
giving the perfect balance of mission
performance, protection and payload
to meet rigorous demands. The exhibition,
which is taken place alongside the
main conference at International
Armoured Vehicles, is attracting
a huge amount of interest from the
AFV community, with over 50 exhibitors
signed up already. Oshkosh will
be joined by an array of vehicle
manufacturers and major OEMs, vehicle
system suppliers and service providers.
Companies include Force Protection,
Iveco, MDH Bioquell, Hutchison and
Tyron. At a time when military,
political and industrial imperatives
come to the fore, International
Armoured Vehicles is an event that
is pertinent to the AFV community. |
