About
BSDA 2008
The
Black Sea Defense & Aerospace
Exhibition & Conference was
held at the ROMAERO complex attached
to the Baneasa International Airport
from September 24-26, 2008. The
event featured aircraft demonstrations,
military and gendarmerie demonstrations,
inside & outside exhibits
and a full conference program.
The
exhibition was fully supported
by the Romanian government and
every related Romanian government
ministry. The exhibition was opened
by: Mr. Gen. Cornel Dobritoiu,
State Secretary in the Ministry
of Defense, General Constantin
Degeratu, State Counselor in the
National Security Department of
the Presidential Administration,
Aurel Cazacu, Ministry of Economy
and Finance, Ion Grosu, Deputy
Director of the Romanian Intelligence
Service & His Excellency Nicholas
F. TAUBMAN, US Ambassador.
The
inaugural edition of BSDA, held
at the Romaero Aerospace Complex
attached to the Băneasa
international airport in Bucharest,
featured flying demonstrations
of the Eurofighter, anti-terrorist
demonstrations with rappelling
from helicopters, and an international
exhibition featuring 170 defense
technology manufacturers from
21 counties who occupied an area
of approximately 16,000 square
meters. Most live demonstrations
of modern defense, anti-terrorism
and security techniques were organized
by the competent ministries in
Romania and included: demos of
the rapid intervention and anti-terrorism
special forces, jumping out of
helicopters, rappel, demonstrative
exercise of the Terrestrial Forces
and the HUMVEE presentation, special
demonstrations of the Constabulary
Special Intervention Brigade,
the ACVILA (EAGLE) Special Intervention
and Protection Group, the Pyrotechnical
Service, the Border Police, and,
not the least, the special exercises
of the Romanian Intelligence Service.
These were joined by demonstrative
Glock pistols firings and exercises
of the Polaris ATVs; the climax
was probably the breaking of the
sound barrier at the demonstrative
flight of Eurofighter Typhoon.
Black
Sea Defense & Aerospace market
potential
On
January 1, 2007, the Black Sea,
which is bordered by 300 million
people, became the European Unions'
new eastern border. As Europe's
newest border, the Black Sea Region's
importance will continue to expand
and reap the benefits of the US
& NATO military realignment
eastward and southward. Recognizing
the critical importance of this
area, the US and Romanian governments
have agreed to the stationing
of US Army & Air Force personnel
on 4 “Forward Operating
Sites” inside Romania.

"Black
Sea Defense Aerospace Exhibition
& Conference 2010" is
being organized by TNT Productions,
Inc., a specialized international
exhibition company. In the past
twenty years, TNT has produced
over 200 industry events which
have been held in virtually every
major city in the USA. In addition
we have organized international
exhibitions in Europe and Asia
and since 1987, we have produced
numerous specialized Romanian
exhibitions which have been held
in both Bucharest and Timisoara.

About
BSDA 2010:
The second edition
of the tri-service defense Exhibition
and Conference BSDA 2010 is going
to take place from 13 to 15 April
2010 on Romaero center. This complex
is located in the northern part
of Bucharest and has direct runway
access to the Baneasa International
Airport (10,400 feet length). The
exhibition and display site occupies
a total area of 351,802 square meters
with hanger space of over 700,000
cubic meters. Cranes and material
handling equipment with load capacity
of up to 300 tones is available.
Since
its beginning in 2007, the BSDA
has been pursuing and achieving
its main objective, namely to promote
the development of the defense industry
by providing manufacturers and traders
the opportunity to stay in touch
with the industrial and research
innovations and achievements of
both local and international developers
of armament and military equipment,
and to find new possibilities for
joint production, overhauling activities
and cooperation in the research
and development of new defence products.
BSDA 2010 offers also good opportunity
for the military and governmental
delegations and for the officers
to acquaint with the latest achievements
of the national defence industry
and the high-tech products presented
by the foreign manufacturers. The
conference pogram includes reports
and contributions by NATO officials
and researchers, representatives
of the member states of the Alliance
and the partner countries, as well
as of the executive and legislative
power of Romania, and defence industries.
Visitors
of BSDA 2010 :
BSDA-2010
is business-to-business event. To
ensure a top quality visitor attendance,
government, military and commercial
delegations will be invited from
all Black Sea, and regional countries.
BSDA-2008 attracted a total audience
of 8,680 visitors including military
officials, government officials,
trade and industry visitors from
52 countries.
