This new weapon is on the par with the most modern 5.56x45 calibre rifle solutions in the world. It is a part of the basic research within the TYTAN Future Soldier Program. It is a modular rifle, i.e. a set of building blocks comprising of a common upper receiver and barrels of different lengths and contours, which assembled with different lower receivers and stock modules enable full user-level mission-adaptability of the rifle, including radical changes in configuration – up to and including choice between the classical “lock, stock and barrel” and bull-pup (butt-less) designs, which is a world’s premiere. The Tier One of the MSAS would be the basic rifle in classical and bull-up configuration, combined with attached MSAS-specific 40 mm LV grenade launcher. Tier TWO would comprise the automatic carbine version as well as Designated Marksman rifle (DMR) and Light Support weapons (LSW) versions. |
