Russia dismissed such move, and reports say Moscow is likely to provide Syria with Iskander Missiles in the face of the US Patriots. It is unknown how many of these missiles have been delivered.

The delivery of the missile not only threatens the security of Turkey but also Israel, which would have to recalculate its strategy with its defensive and offensive capabilities.

The Iskander Missile SS-26 Stone is a short range tactical missile system developed and produced in Russia. The Iskander-M, the new export version of Iskander, has a maximum range of 400 km. It is intended to use conventional warheads for the engagement of small and area targets (both moving and stationary), such as hostile fire weapons, air and antimissile defense weapons, command posts and communications nodes and troops in concentration areas, among others.

An unconventional warhead could also be an option, including a tactical nuclear or chemical warhead.
